Το πρώτο LatoMeio Project Residency
πραγματοποιήθηκε τον Απρίλιο του 2017 με πρωτοβουλία της Eleni Danesi (architect/movement artist) και της Evi Stamou (director, video artists) με αφορμή την κοινή τους αγάπη για το βιβλίο " Τα χρονικά του Άρη".
10 καλλιτέχνες από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό, έμειναν στο χωριό του Λεωνιδίου για 10 μέρες προκειμένου να ζήσουν στην/την περιοχή, να εξερευνήσουν τα απομεινάρια του παλιού Λατομείου και να δημιουργήσουν τις δικές τους εμπειρίες μνήμες και εικαστικές παρεμβάσεις στο τοπίο, με αφορμή τις ιστορίες του βιβλίου "Τα χρονικά του Άρη"-" The Martian Chronicles", του Ray Bradbury.
The first LatoMeio Project Residency
took place in Leonidio village in April 2017. It was organized by the architect and movement artist Eleni Danesi (who grew up in the village), and the video artist and director Evi Stamou. The residency was named after the book of Ray Bradbury "The Martian Chronicles", which was a big source of artistic inspiration for both artists.
10 multidisciplinary artists from Greece and other European countries, were invited to stay, collaborate and create in the village, inspired by the architecture and history of the village, the stories of the old Quarry, and the rich narratives of the book. During their stay, the artists constructed a new narrative from the place, filtered through the reflections of the book, and left their own traces behind for the next "Martian expedition" to explore.
