Το δεύτερο LatoMeio Project Residency πραγματοποιήθηκε τον Φεβρουάριο του 2020, λίγο πριν το πρώτο lockdown, αφήνοντάς μας με τις πιο όμορφες αναμνήσεις και πολύ υλικό για σκέψη. Η Eleni Danesi (architect/movement artist) συνδιοργάνωσε το Martian Chronicles II, σε συνεργασία με τη Γερμανίδα φωτογράφο Caroline Wimmer, με σκοπό να δημιουργήσουν μια πιο σταθερή κοινότητα καλλιτεχνών στο Λεωνίδιο.
10 καλλιτέχνες από την Ελλάδα και τη Γερμανία, έμειναν στο χωριό του Λεωνιδίου για 10 μέρες προκειμένου να ζήσουν στην/την περιοχή, να εξερευνήσουν τα απομεινάρια του παλιού Λατομείου και να δημιουργήσουν τις δικές τους εμπειρίες μνήμες και εικαστικές παρεμβάσεις στο τοπίο, με αφορμή τις ιστορίες του βιβλίου "Τα χρονικά του Άρη"-" The Martian Chronicles", του Ray Bradbury.
Κεντρικό θέμα του Residency και κατεύθυνση εικαστικής αναζήτησης για τους καλλιτέχνες, ήταν η σχέση της εμπειρία του τοπίου και του τόπου με την διαμόρφωση προσωπικής ταυτότητας. Πώς το τοπίο μπορεί να γίνει, μεταφορικά, ένα ένδυμα για το σώμα, που το φέρει πάνω του ως ανάμνηση καθοριστική για τη ζωή και τις αποφάσεις/κινήσεις του ατόμου.
The second LatoMeio Project Residency
took place in February 2020, just before the first lockdown, leaving us with the most beautiful memories and a lot of material to think about. Eleni Danesi (architect / movement artist) co-organized The Martian Chronicles II, in collaboration with the German photographer Caroline Wimmer, with the aim of creating a more stable community of artists in Leonidio.
10 artists from Greece and Germany, stayed in the village of Leonidi for 10 days in order to live in the area, to explore the remains of the old Quarry and to create their own experiences memories and artistic interventions in the landscape, on the occasion of the stories of the book "The Martian Chronicles" by Ray Bradbury.
The central theme of the Residency and the direction of the artistic exploration was the relationship between the experience of the landscape and the place (topo) with the composition of personal identity. How can we perceive the landscape as a "costume" which we carry on our bodies as a memories, and how does, this invisible garment, shape our life decisions/movements?
